As you may or may not know, BeeVee has a website that is dearly treasured and cared for by their website committee SPIn. However, we think there is room for improvement. On the 6th of December the annual BeeVee charity auction will take place!
During the charity auction we will be auctioning off items, and all the profits will be going to our charity: de Waddenvereniging (The mudflat association). You can sign up items you would like to auction of via the following form.
At the charity auction you can bid on all the different items that pass by, and you might be able to acquire some nice bargains whilst also helping out charity. There will also be a bar during the activity where you buy drinks.
De Waddenvereniging is an organisation that protects the Wadden Sea, one of the Netherlands' largest ecosystems. With one subject they vigorously oppose damage to the Wadden Sea ecosystem, and with the others they initiate projects that make it more robust.Read more

We hope you are doing well and we wanted to let you know what you can expect from the association and the board during these challenging times. First of all, we will organise online activities. There have already been a few of these, but more will follow in the near future. The board will also soon start organising their weekly biologist evening once again, via Discord. Every Thursday, starting 07-05-2020, the board can be found in the voice channel “Malle Babbe” from 20:30 till 23:00h. The board can also be approached during the board room shifts. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday you can find two board members in the Discord voice channel “The Board Room” from 12:30h till 13:00h for any questions or issues you may have. LOBS (National Deliberation Biology Students) is an organisation for and by biology students in the Netherlands. We offer information on all the biology study programmes in the Netherlands and organise national events with biology as the central topic. An example is the annual Master of biology day in Utrecht.
The past three years, we have also organised the National congress for Biology Students (NCBS). This year, LOBS will present the fourth edition of the NCBS on December 14th of 2018! The event will again take place in the congress room and foyer of Safari Centre Burgers’ Zoo at Arnhem.Read more

We, the 33rd board of BeeVee, have set up the 'Policy Plan Internationalisation 2018-2019' to prepare ourselves on the English Bachelor Biology that will start next year and the non-Dutch speaking students that will start the study Biology in Nijmegen. This document will be presented on Thursday 7th of June between 12:30 and 13:30h. This will also be the time to ask us questions about the upcoming internationalisation. We would like to invite you to the interim general meeting of members (GMM) of BeeVee which will be on Thursday the 26th of April 2018. The GMM will start at 16:30h in HG00.303, you are free to enter the room from 16:00h. There will be no pre-GMM in advance of this general meeting.
During the GMM the 33rd board of BeeVee will discuss the statements of personal information for members, honorary members, members of merit and friends of BeeVee. Also the confidentiality statement for active members of BeeVee will be presented. Furthermore there will be a vote on the general membership terms and conditions, general sales conditions, proposed changes in the house rules and the contract with Dekker van de Vegt. There will be a completely new document for the general sales conditions. We advise you to read both the current and the new general sales conditions to get a good overview of the proposed changes.
The GMM-documents will be available on the BeeVee-website from Thursday the 12th of April 2018.

Dear member,
We would like to inform you about the fact that on May 25th 2018 a new law comes into effect. This will be the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG). Because of this new law, some changes will occur for BeeVee concerning collecting and processing personal information.
The 31st board of BeeVee started letting members sign statements, but now it seems that the old statement doesn’t cover for all the information that BeeVee thinks is necessary to collect from her members.
That’s why we would like to request you to sign the new statement personal information before May 25th of this year. This will be possible in different ways: you could digitally sign the appendix sent with this e-mail or you could go to the board rooms and ask someone of the board about the statement. Besides that, the board will sit outside of the classrooms where exams take place during this exam weeks, so we can reach as many people as possible.
It is very important that the signing of the statements personal information happens before May 25th, because otherwise you cannot stay a member of BeeVee. We legally otherwise don’t have the permission to save your personal data and we have to delete this data. If you want to become a member of BeeVee again, you have to fill in everything again and have to pay again. Save yourself and BeeVee a lot of effort to sign the statement in time.
This was a long e-mail with a lot of information, but we hope that we made everything a little bit clear. If you still have remaining questions or if there are things unclear, don’t hesitate to ask us.

Zoals de meeste van jullie al weten, gaat de Bachelor Biologie vanaf september 2018 over naar het Engels. Het eerste jaar zal vanaf dan helemaal Engels zijn, het jaar daarna het eerste en het tweede jaar en na 3 jaar is dus de hele Bachelor Biologie Engels. Het Landelijk Overleg BiologieStudenten (LOBS) heeft een advies geschreven over de transitie naar het Engels van de studies Biologie in Nederland (advies).
