Dear dragonfly nymphs, We hope you had a great summer and are ready to dive into your first year of Biology! We are your mentors Fiene, Maarten and Layla and we are very excited to meet you all this Orientation Week 2026.

Hi my name is Fiene and I’m 19 years old. My hometown is Helmond, near Eindhoven but right now I live in Nijmegen. I can be quite a talker and so I love having drinks with friends, or grabbing a coffee. I work on festivals and am always in for a beer or to do a little dance, even though that isn’t my best quality... Furthermore I love to have some alone time and just chill. I’m really looking forward to meeting you all, please contact me/us for anything, and lets have a good time!! 

Hey my name is Maarten, I am 18 years old and from Rosmalen a town near Den Bosch but currently living in Nijmegen. After this summer I'll be starting my second year of Biology. In my spare time you'll probably find me playing football, in the gym or partying with friends. I'm really excited to meet you all and let's have fun!! 

Haii, I am layla! I’m 19 years old and originally from Almelo (Twente), but i’ve traded the east for Nijmegen and am currently living in Nijmegen as well. Besides my studies, I spend a lot of my time on the volleybal court with my team. When i’m not playing sports, you will definitely find me with my friends, and we are often out in the club. Besides that, i’m usually busy with my sorority activities. I’m so ready to meet you all and have an amazing week together! See you soon :)
