Institute assessors

The Institute assessors are two student representatives within the board of Education of the institute Biosciences. The board is responsible for all biology programmes, including the bachelor (medical) Biology, and the masters Biology and Medical Biology. They consist of:

  • The chair, or Educational Director: this person chairs the meeting and is responsible for the whole board.
  • The secretary: minutes the meeting and keeps track of all administrative tasks.
  • Programme coordinator Bachelor: there are two coordinators for the bachelor, one is reponsible for the medical biology domains, and the other for the (green) biology domains.
  • Programme coordinator Medical Biology: this coordinator is responsible for the master Medical Biology, and all specialisations that belong to this master: Medical Epigenomics, Human Biology and Neurobiology.
  • Programme coordinator Biology: this coordinator is responsible for the master Biology and all specialisations that are part of this master: Microbiology, Conservation and Restoration Ecology, Adaptive Organisms, and Environment & Sustainability.
  • Two student representatives, or the institute assessors which is us!

The Institute assessors are part of the board to help give their input as a student representative. One represents the students from the Medical biology domain and masters, and one represents the 'green' Biology students.

This academic year, this role is fullfilled by Romy Geuvers (Medical Biology) and Hazal Doğan (Biology). We are part of the board meetings to give our opinions on how the programmes of Biology are organised, and translate all students'  opinions properly when decisions are being taken.
