Flunkyball
Set the playing field: one bottle (the flunk) filled for a third with liquid (preferably). Take seven (7) big steps to both sides of the bottles, and set up the drinks of the two teams on a line on that distance. Glass bottles with caps may be opened before the start of the game, cans may be depressurized but not completely opened yet.
It is preferable to have a ball for the ball, but a shoe is also possible as ball. In this case however, the game would be renamed to flunkyshoe. Very important to remember.
When the teams are set up, choose a team that can start playing first. Usually this is the team of the person holding the ball at that point, but you can get creative with this like with a game of rock paper scissors.
The team that starts throws the ball at the flunk, trying to knock it over.
It is important that the following rules are adhered to:
- Throwing should be done one-handed, with an over-the-shoulder throw.
- No one from both teams shall cross the line before the ball has left the hand of the throwing person.
- If the flunk is knocked over, the team of the thrower may start drinking (or opening their can and then drink in case that applies).
- If the flunk is knocked over, the opposite team may start running to put the flunk back up and retrieve the ball. When all players are behind their team line again, the team should shout STOP as loud as possible.
- If STOP is called out, the drinking team has to stop drinking immediately.
- If beer is spilled, the person spilling the beer will get a punishment drink.
- If the flunk is hit, but not knocked over, the person throwing can do a trickshot if they want to. If the trickshot hits, normal rules apply but everybody shall be extra happy.
- When you have finished your drink, hold it upside down above your head for 1 second to prove it is empty. Too much foam means a punishment drink.
- Flunkyball is a team sport, so when you are finished with your drink you can stay and help your team by throwing and running.
When all players of a team have finished their drinks, that team wins! This means eternal fame for at least half an hour. The losing team has to finish their drinks before they are allowed to participate in another game of flunkyball.
