Zebrafish

We are Ania, Casper and Lucas and we will be your mentors during the orientation week, and to give you an idea of who we are we will shortly introduce ourselves.

Hello, hello, my name is Ania, I’m 19 and a second-year biologist. Although you might think that my height and obsession with pepernoten/stroopwafels might point to me being Dutch, do not be mistaken, as I come from the vodka-loving part of Europe (Poland). You will also see my face a lot, as I’m a member of the 41 st board of BeeVee. And you might be asking yourself, What is this BeeVee thing? So let me explain a little. BeeVee is a study association for (medical) biology in Nijmegen, which organises study-related activities, as well as parties, borrels, sports activities, and much more. I could go on all day, but you will get to know more about the fourteen committees throughout the intro week, so everyone is bound to find a community that suits you. I myself am a member of BOS (travel committee) and an ex-member of FYC (first-year committee), which is a great opportunity to get to know your fellow first years as well as the older years. Aside from all that, I am passionate about photography, music, and animals (especially dogs, and specifically my dog). You will also quite quickly realise that I love talking, so always feel free to walk up to me for a little yapping session or to ask about anything. I am very much looking forward to meeting you all!

Helloooo, my name is Casper! I’m 20 years old and a fourth-year biology student. I am a green biologist with a preference for the animal physiology and ecology side of biology. This will be my first time as a mentor, and I am very excited to be your guide in Nijmegen, the intro week but mostly this new chapter in your life. I am fairly active within BeeVee, since I am a member of SPIn (Site Perfecting Internetters), the website committee. At SPIn we organise activities such as LAN nights, laser gaming, and building lego sets. Besides BeeVee, I love to hang out with friends, with and without (alcoholic) drinks, and I love to play video games (if you want to know my favorites, feel free to ask). I am really excited to meet you all in person, and I hope you are all as excited as I am for this amazing week!

Haiiii, I’m Lucas, I’m 27 years old, from Nijmegen, and an 8th (I know) year biology student. Time flies, they say. I am a member of many committees, such as SPIn (the website committee), with whom I organise loads of fun activities like the ones Casper already mentioned! I also like hanging out with friends, playing a video game or two, and trying to study in between. I myself was quite nervous for my own introduction, but it turned out to be great. I want to make sure you guys have an introduction that is just as amazing as my own. I’ll be watching over you, not only because I care about you, but also because I’m very tall :P We hope you are as excited as we are for Orientation week and we cannot wait to see you in August! But in the meantime, be sure to follow the Instagram of our Biology Orientation Committee for updates and fun insights, @beevee_boc!

Love,

Ania, Casper & Lucas
