Kangaroo

Heyhey Baby-kangaroos/ Joey’s!! (fun fact: that’s the name of a baby kangaroo). Your time has come to climb out of mothers pouch. Hop on over to the intro and join us Kangaroos!!

Dorothee, Bas and Anna will be guiding you and we are going to make sure that you will have a blast! You will get to know all about Biology, your fellow students and all of Nijmegen. We’re excited to meet you soon!

Hey hey hey Kangerinooos!! I’m Bas a second year Biology Student from Utrecht. I’m so excited to share the start of university with you and show you all that Nijmegen has to offer. You can find me uptown hopping around thrift shops, relaxing with friends on the Waalbeach or at Phocas, the rowing association, where you will often find me at their parties (instead of in the boat). I play a bit of guitar, like to go running and I write for the ANS, the university newspaper. I love to meet new people, so I’m also very curious about you: don’t hesitate to contact me and introduce yourselves!

I’m still a biologist-in-the-making and not sure which route I will take, but my indecisiveness probably wants to do a bit of everything. I’m always slopping on campus, drinking way too much coffee and procrastinating all the work I need to do with lots of chitchats. I attend many of BeeVee’s organised activities and my own introduction week was a ton fun, I’m sure yours will be too! For now I’ll say bye and see you soon!! With love, Bas

Hellohello,

I am Anna, I’m a third year biologist, 20 years old, and from Utrecht. I will be one of your mentors. I am a member of Gastro, the food committee of BeeVee, we organize activities around food, like a cooking 101, or just a cheap dinner. In my free time I like to run and go to the gym. I also love getting a drink in the city with my friends. I am a green biologist, but I’m still doubting between ecology and environmental. After the intro I am going on exchange to Cordoba (Spain) for a semester. I am really excited about that, but also a little nervous about my Spanish skills.

Overall, I’m having a great time in Nijmegen, and I really like studying biology. I’m very excited to meet you all, and we will have a great time!

Hi dear Joeys,

I am Dorothee, one of your kangaroomentors! I am a second year biologist, 20 years old and I’m from Rotterdam. In my free time I enjoy playing  guitar, bass guitar and piano. I am also part of the campus choir, which I really love doing. My goal for the bachelor is to outplay the radboud sport centre by trying out as many (random) sport classes as I can, I mean it’s basically free so why not? So far I’ve mostly done yoga classes, a boxing course, swimming and some other loose classes. I also really like to be a bit creative and paint or draw, at least if I can find the strength to put my phone/netflix away.

As far as Biology, I’m not entirely sure what field i wanna go into but I think it will be more on the green/plant side. Luckly, I still have some time to decide. And besides the studying part of Biology, I am also in the FYC (First Year Committee of BeeVee) where we organise all fun activities and hang out together. I would really recommend joining it!

I think that’s it for now, I am very excited to meet you all and we will make a great week out of it!!
